Kofta (Meatballs) with Tomato Sauce

I like to cook kofta with rich tomato sauce and serve it with basmati rice, you can also serve it with spaghetti, couscous, and quinoa. Kofta is comparable to meatballs and served internationally under different names, with the main ingredient minced meat rolled into small balls and with additional ingredients used depending on different nationalities or countries in the recipe is made. Kofta or meatballs is loved by young and old, it is a simple and delicious recipe, that can be eaten in so many ways, it can be served as an appetizer, into a meal, into a soup, and as a snack. Meatballs can be grilled, fried, baked, and boiled. Meatballs are an international dish, it is cooked all over the world in many ways.
My children love this dish and they like to eat it with spaghetti more than rice. If I ever want to put a smile on their faces, then this is the dish.
Ingredient
Kofta (Meatballs)
- 2 Ibs of ground beef
- 2 cups finely chopped parsley
- 1 large onion finely chopped
- 2 celery sticks finely chopped
- 6 clove garlic crushed
- 2 tablespoons crushed ginger
- 1 large egg
- 1 ½ cup of oatmeal
- 1 long hot pepper
- 1 tablespoon black pepper
- 1 tablespoon cumin
- 1 tablespoon chili powder
- 1 tablespoon sumac
- 1 tablespoon Garam Masala
- Salt as preferred
Sauces
- 1 28 oz can of crushed tomatoes
- 1 6 oz can tomato paste diluted with 2 cups of water
- 3 tablespoon olive oil
- 2 cups water
- Salt as preferred
- 1 tablespoon black pepper
- 1 tablespoon cumin
- 1 tablespoon Garam Masala
- 1 tablespoon paprika
Instruction
Kofta (Meatballs)
In a large bowl add ground beef, parsley, onion, celery, garlic, ginger, egg, oatmeal, hot pepper, black pepper, cumin, chili powder, sumac, and salt. Mix all together and make them into small balls.




Sauce
In a large pot on high heat add the olive oil, crushed tomatoes, and tomato paste diluted with 2 cups of water, then add the other 2 cups of water, salt, black pepper, cumin, garam masala, and paprika. The pot should be half full of all the liquid sauce. Let it boil for about 5 to 7 minutes, after the sauce thickens low the heat and let it simmer for about 5 minutes, then start to add your meatballs on low heat cover and let it cook for about 15 minutes until the meatballs are fully cooked.
